Seychelles ha escogido la isla de Praslin para dar a conocer sus rasgos más agradables. Sus paisajes armoniosos han influenciado el carácter de sus habitantes, dulzura, amabilidad y discreción. El tesoro genuino de Praslin el "Vallée de Mai", es celosamente preservado por los residentes.
Este es el único sitio en el mundo donde el famoso coco-de-mer, maliciosamente llamado "coco fesse" por Henry de Montfreid, crece. Todo ha sido estudiado para dar el tamaño justo de un jeep a las atractivas carreteras que lo cruzan para evitar, así, efectos adversos en el medio.
Las prioridades de Praslin son dos, dar la bienvenida a sus admiradores y permanecer como "La Perla del Océano Índico".
Cuando Lazare Picault desembarcó en Praslin en 1744, quedó tan impresionado por la exuberante vegetación que cubre la isla, que la llamó "la Isla de la Palma". Antiguamente fue la guarida de famosos pirata y comerciantes árabes. Hoy en día Praslin tiene 44 km² de Jardín del Edén.
A 15 minutos volando de Mahé (36 km) y a 30 minutos en barco (6 km) a La Digue, Praslin es la segunda isla más grande con 7000 habitantes acomodados en 11 km por 4. Calas que quitan la respiración y playas espectaculares abundan en la isla, entre ellas la famosa Anse Lazio, considerada como una de las cinco playas más bellas del mundo.
Praslin se ha convertido en “el camino de entrada“ gracias a su nuevo aeropuerto, construido en 2001, siendo el sitio perfecto para unas perfectas vacaciones.
